“I'm in love with a feeling“ - sang Pete Doherty on the debut album 'Down in Albion' of his band Babyshambles released in 2005.

Love is an essential element of the world. No emotion is as deep, as full of projections and as ambivalent as love is. It has influenced the attitude of generations towards their lives and it employs art like no other topic. Both fascinating and multifaceted, love can play the most different claviatures, without depicting a clear image. The ideas of this feeling are always oppositional and give broad space for interpretations.

Hans-Peter Feldmann, Lothar Hempel, Gregor Hildebrandt, Leigh Ledare, Bernhard Martin, Anselm Reyle and Heimo Zobernig are putting the meaning of love into new correlations, each artist forms his own narration out of it. The exhibition is about the knowing of love, the different versions of it and the awareness of a possible failure that relies in this feeling. Just like love and life the works in the exhibition can't promise any kind of fulfillment, whereas they rather offer moments of deep emotions and subversion.

The artistic positions shown in the exhibition reflect upon the multilayered interpretations and heterogeneous concepts of love. The selected works excel in their interrelation a partial definition of it as a strong emotion whose only reason resides in its personal fulfillment. They enable further plays of this unique phenomenon called love.
